Who won the world series game
It was an incredible season from end-to-end for the Volunteers. Not only were they the first No. 1 overall seed to win the National title since Miami in 1999, but their 60 total wins are the most for a CWS champion since 1989.< aliante casino movies /p>
Tennessee followed up its thrilling, come-from-behind victory on Friday night with a far less stressful win tonight over a talented North Carolina squad. The Volunteers were unable to muster much offense through the first three innings, but broke through in the fourth thanks to a three-run blast off the bat of Kavares Tears.
Christian Moore hit a leadoff homer, Dylan Dreiling went deep for the third time in three games and Tennessee survived anxious moments late to take the title with a 6-5 victory over Texas A&M on Monday night in Game 3 of the Men’s College World Series finals.
First game of world series
The Texas Rangers, who lost in the 2010 World Series, were twice only one strike away from winning their first World Series title in 2011, but the St. Louis Cardinals‘ David Freese, the eventual Series MVP, drove in both the tying and winning runs late in Game 6 to force a Game 7.
In an 18-year span from 1947 to 1964, except for 1948 and 1959, the World Series was played in New York City, featuring at least one of the three teams located in New York at the time. The Dodgers and Giants moved to California after the 1957 season, leaving the Yankees as the lone team in the city until the Mets were enfranchised in 1962. In 1947, 1949, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1955, and 1956, both teams in the World Series were from New York, with the Yankees playing against either the Dodgers or Giants.
The final score — Dodgers 6, Yankees 3 — does not scream classic. It is misleading. On Friday night, the 52,394 souls lucky enough to witness Game 1 in person beheld the rare sporting event that teems with hoopla only to find it exceeded. The two most famous franchises in baseball, genuine elites of their coasts, fought. And then with one swing, on a first-pitch 93 mph fastball from Nestor Cortes, Freeman managed to deliver the first walk-off grand slam in World Series history and limp around the bases 36 years after Kirk Gibson famously did the same.

This app is really a great app. It’s challenging enough to make me want to keep trying, but it’s not so hard that I get frustrated and bored. It starts out with highlighting a country and from a multiple choice you select which country. Then as you raise in levels the selections get more challenging adding things like, capitols, flags, boarder outlines. But, if you don’t feel like going more difficult, you can customize just how challenging it is. I like this feature so I can focus on improving each bit of knowledge. A feature I really like, when you answer a question, you can get more information where it tells you everything; country, capital, flag, population, country outline, highest elevation, country motto, etc. I especially enjoy clicking on this for countries I know very little about. Doing so has really helped me answer later questions, when I remember flags and capitols.
